Flowering Shrubs @ Cyncoed
Our Play Groups run from 9.00am to 12.00am every day during term time for 2 to 5 year olds and we are registered for a maximum of 21 children . There is an afternoon playgroup session at Cyncoed from 1.00 – 3.30pm.
There are many ways in which children learn and we shape our activities around their learning. Our activities promote Creative Play with a range of painting, cutting and modelling; Physical Play using balls, mats, hoops, bikes and slides. Social Play in the Home Corner reflects the topics we are learning about for example a café when we are learning about food; Communication – Role play using the appropriate language and tools. We have a wide range of floor play consisting of garage, vehicles, farm animals, blocks and building. This will encourage social development.
Children have access to a wide range of activities inside and outside combining free and more structured play.
We can also offer a Lunch Club for children registered with our Play Group. This runs from 11.30am – 1.00pm. Children will be supervised while they eat their packed lunch. Water or milk can be provided.
In addition, we offer a minibus or walking bus to those children attending the afternoon nursery session at Rhydypenau and St Mellon’s CiW Primary School.
We collect from Rhydypenau for after school club at our Cyncoed setting and St Mellon’s for the after school club based on site.
